Just in case anyone was curious how the PitDark Twitter pitch event went for me.

I'm happy (and shocked!) it went so well! This is for a gothic romance novel that I'm querying.

Pitch events are fun, because even if you don't get any likes, it's still a great a great opportunity to make new author friends.

Recap: the event last 12 hours. You can tweet out one tweet-length pitch of your manuscript (that you're querying for traditional publication) per hour. If an agent or a publisher "likes" your tweet, it's an invitation to query/submit to them according to their guidelines.

Tomorrow is the #PitDark pitch event on Twitter (for novels with "darker" elements.) I don't use Twitter a whole lot anymore, but I can't resist the fun of a good pitch event! I'm currently querying a gothic novel, so I figured it's a good time to throw my hat in the ring.

How it works:
Participants get to tweet one pitch per hour between a 12-hour time span, and if an agent or a publisher "likes" your tweet, then it's an invitation to query them.

Fellow participants and followers support each other by retweeting or commenting on pitch tweets.

It's a good way to make new connections with other authors, even if you don't end up with a bite from an agent or publisher.

I've got all my tweets scheduled to go through TweetDeck, and the fun begins bright and early. Wish me luck! :)
